السعودية تدق ناقوس الخطر من كارثة بيئية في البحر الأحمر
حذرت السعودية مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة من أن «بقعة نفطية» شوهدت على مسافة 50 كيلومتراً إلى الغرب من ناقلة «صافر» المتهالكة قبالة ساحل اليمن، والتي يمكن أن تُسرّب 1.1 مليون برميل من الخام ما قد تنجم عنه إحدى أخطر الكوارث البيئية عالمياً.
وتطفو الناقلة صافر قبالة مرفأ رأس عيسى النفطي المطل على البحر الأحمر منذ أكثر من 5 سنوات. وحذرت الأمم المتحدة من أن الخزان النفطي يمكن أن يسرب ما يصل إلى 4 أمثال كميات النفط المتسرب من الناقلة إكسون فالديز عام 1989 قبالة ألاسكا
.وقال عبد الله المعلمي السفير السعودي لدى الأمم المتحدة في رسالة إلى المجلس، إن خبراء لاحظوا أن أنبوباً متصلاً بالسفينة ربما انفصل عن الدعامات التي تثبته في القاع ويطفو الآن فوق سطح البحر.
وقال المعلمي إن الناقلة وصلت إلى حالة حرجة وإن الوضع يمثل تهديداً خطيراً لكل الدول المطلة على البحر الأحمر، خاصة اليمن والسعودية مضيفاً أن هذا الوضع الخطير يجب ألا يُترك دون معالجته.
وتنتظر الأمم المتحدة تعاون الانقلابيين الحوثيين لإرسال مهمة إلى الناقلة صافر لإجراء تقييم فني وأي إصلاحات قد تكون ممكنة.
ودعا مجلس الأمن والأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش الميليشيات الحوثية إلى السماح بدخول فريق التقييم.
وفي وقت سابق أكدت الرياض أمام جلسة لمجلس الأمن مخصصة لملف خزان صافر، أن حل الكارثة المحتملة ليس بالأمر الصعب ويبدأ بالسماح لفريق الأمم المتحدة الفني بالوصول إلى ناقلة النفط العائمة وتقييمها، لكن هذا الإجراء السهل لم يتحقق أبداً بسبب عدم سماح الانقلابيين الحوثيين بذلك.
