كشفت الصحيفة العبرية “هآرتس”، عن وثائق سرية لأول مرة تؤكد قيام رئيس حكومة دولة عربية بتسريب معلومات حساسة ساعدت على قيام دولة اسرائيل عام 1948.
وكتب الباحث الإسرائيلي “مئير زمير” مقالًا بصحيفة “هآرتس”، حول تلك الوثائق التي كشف خلاله عن قيام رئيس حكومة دولة عربية بتسريب معلومات هامة وحساسة لقيادات الصهيونية ساعدت على قيام دولة إسرائيل.
وأكدت الوثائق أن رئيس الوزراء السوري الراحل في عهد الانتداب الفرنسي، “جميل مردم بك”، قدم معلومات هامة وحاسمة إلى القيادي في الحركة الصهيونية آنذالك بن جوريون، وساعدت فيما بعد على قيام دولة إسرائيل في العام 1948.
وبحسب الوثائق بدأ تجنيد “جميل مردم بك” في صيف عام 1945، بواسطة رئيس المخابرات البريطانية في الشرق الأوسط، “إيلتيد نيكول كلايتون”، بعد أن كشفت معلومات استخبارية فرنسية.
وقال الباحث الإسرائيلي “مئير زمير” أن “مردم بك” كان يحلم بإقامة دولة سوريا الكبرى التي تضم سوريا والعراق والأردن تحت حكم الملك فيصل ابن الشريف حسين فيما سيكون هو رئيس الورزاء.
وتابع “زمير” أن الفرنسيون، قرروا ابتزاز “مردم بك” بعد أن هددوه بتسريب الوثائق التي تفضح تخابره لصالح قيام دولة إسرائيل مما دفعه إلى الاستقالة في أغسطس من العام 1945.
وقالت “هارتس” أن “مردم بك” أصبح بعد ذلك عميل مزدوج وزود الفرنسيين بمعلومات هامة عن نوايا الجيش البريطاني وأجهزة المخابرات في الشرق الأوسط.
وأوضح الباحث الإسرائيلي أن “بن جوريون” كان يستعد منذ يوليو 1945، لاحتمال وقوع هجوم من الجيوش العربية في حال أعلنت إسرائيل استقلاها، بيد أن المعلومات التي وردت “مردم” حولت الاهتمام إلى اتجاه آخر.
