أكد تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس مدير عام منظمة الصحة العالمية، اليوم الخميس ،أن غالبية سكان العالم معرضون للإصابة بفيروس كورونا المستجد المعروف بكوفيد-19، وأن غالبية الدول لا تزال في المراحل الأولى من التصدي للوباء.
وشدد المدير العام، في مؤتمر صحافي، عبر الفيديو، بحسب ما نقلت سكاي نيوز، على أنه أمامنا طريق طويل، هذا الفيروس سيكون معنا لفترة طويلة، مضيفا في الوقت نفسه أن الدول كان لديها متسع من الوقت للتصدي لهذه الجائحة.
وأكدت منظمة الصحة العالمية أنها أعلنت حالة الطوارئ العالمية بسبب تفشي وباء كوفيد-19 في الوقت المناسب، مما أفسح في المجال أمام الدول للاستعداد، وإعداد خطط التصدي.
