وقال تركي الفيصل، لقناة (روتانا خليجية)، إنه كلف من قبل الملك خالد بن عبد العزيز، بالمشاركة في تحقيق مقتل الملك فيصل،
ورداً على سؤال عن ورود معلومات سابقة عن عملية الاغتيال لمكتب الاتصالات الخارجية السعودي، والذي كان يعمل فيه الأمير السعودي وقتها، شدد الفيصل على أنه لم تكن هناك أي معلومة.
وتعليقاً على سؤال المحاور بشأن دوافع العمل الفردي للاغتيال، هل تتعلق بالملك فيصل أم بسياساته، أجاب الفيصل، أن التفريق بين هذا وذاك صعب، فالدوافع منها شخصية، ومنها ما يتعلق بسياسات الملك فيصل”.
واستذكر الأمير تركي الفيصل، والده الملك، وحياته ومآثره، وذكريات مشاركة الملك عبد العزيز في تأسيس المملكة وتوحيدها وهو لا يزال صغيراً، حيث أكد أن أول معركة شارك فيها الملك فيصل مع والده الملك عبد العزيز كان عمره 11 سنة، وبعد أن انتهت المعركة وضع رأسه على صخرة بالأرض و”نام أحلى نومة بحياته”، وفقاً لصحيفة (سبق) السعودية.
في 25 آذار/ مارس 1975 قام الأمير فيصل بن مساعد بن عبد العزيز آل سعود، بإطلاق النار على عمه الملك فيصل، وهو يستقبل وزير النفط الكويتي عبد المطلب الكاظمي في مكتبه بالديوان الملكي، وأرداه قتيلاً، وقد اخترقت إحدى الرصاصات الوريد، فكانت السبب الرئيسي لوفاته
